Master the essential skills for a low-carbon future. This professional certification course provides in-depth knowledge on carbon accounting and GHG management, empowering your business to effectively measure and reduce emissions.
The course addresses the foundational questions on why we need to reduce emissions, what the accurate accounting of emissions will help achieve, and how appropriate target setting, and sharing on various approaches and solutions can equip and empower us to reduce emissions. As one of the Enterprise Sustainability Programme (ESP) Decarbonisation Courses, it is relevant for both beginner and experienced staff members looking to hone their knowledge of carbon accounting and greenhouse gas (GHG) management.
Participants will utilize the Carbon and Emissions Recording Tool (CERT) developed in-house by UNGCNS during the group project.

After the course, participants can plug into our global community and
local alumni network to connect and share knowledge with like-minded peers.
To help participants develop an understanding of the importance of climate change, the key relevant developments, and to equip them with basic knowledge and skills to start measuring and recording their business carbon footprint.
2 Days
The 2 course days are approximately 1-2 weeks apart to allow time for the completion of a project assignment.
Full fee (for non-subsidised participant): S$1,600
Subsidised fee*: S$480
*Subsidised course fee per participant is only applicable to nominees from local companies1 and trade associations (TACs)2. See below for more info.
1Registered and operating in Singapore.
2TACs will need to fulfil the following criteria:
a) registered with Registry of Societies (ROS) or Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA); and
b) defined as a non-profit organisation.
The classroom learning will be facilitated by experienced industry professionals. This will be complemented by guided use of tools to accelerate practical application and peer learning opportunities.
Is there anything to mark my achievement?
Upon completion, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion by UN Global Compact Network Singapore.

The Enterprise Sustainability Programme (ESP) supports Singapore companies, especially our SMEs, to build capabilities and capture new opportunities. The ESP – Sustainability Courses aim to help local enterprises and TACs build awareness and knowledge of sustainability in various key themes and areas. Participants who would benefit most from the course would be decision makers and change agents in companies such as SMEs, companies new to sustainability and carbon management, and key industries* impacted by climate change and government regulations:
*Note: In line with our guiding values to leave no one behind, GCNS courses will be sector agnostic. However, recognizing that becoming sustainable may be more urgent for some industries and companies, and depending on the profile of registrants, the curriculum may emphasize certain frameworks/concepts and/or offer relevant peer learning points through case studies in certain industries.
Course fee of S$624 payable per eligible participant comprises of $480-course fee (if eligible for 70% Enterprise SG subsidy) + $144 for GST on the full course fee.
