Far East Group Limited has been recognized as a winner in the LowCarbonSG category of the Singapore Apex Corporate Sustainability Awards 2025. This award, organized by the United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore, acknowledges the company’s significant achievements in reducing carbon emissions through strategic investments and innovative environmental initiatives. The recognition underscores Far East Group’s commitment to sustainability and its role in supporting Singapore’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
Some companies have been gaming their climate targets to attract investment, with most struggling to cut “impossible” supply chain emissions, the United Nations Global Compact Network Thailand executive director said at an event in Singapore last week.
If one sits on the sustainability team in a company, and focuses only on the “E” in “ESG”, then he is not talking about environmental, social and governance issues holistically, said Patrick Shaw-Brown, CEO of Impactt, a consultancy that specialises in ethical trade and human rights.
